Vicar’s June Message

I seem to be in a season of reviewing. The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) at the beginning of April provided a wide-ranging review of our church’s activities throughout 2023. This was a valuable opportunity to look at successes and areas for growth.

I’ve had to put some dates in my diary for a review of the ‘Interim Ministry’ of the last 12 months. In October I have a meeting with the Bishop about the development of my ministry.

In times like these, it’s natural to reminisce about the ‘good old days.’ However, God calls us to move forward, embracing the future with faith and determination. The first few verses of the Book of Hebrews offer a powerful reminder:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

This passage encourages us to let go of the past and any obstacles that may hold us back. As we look ahead, let us persevere, guided by our faith in Jesus, who leads us towards a future filled with promise and purpose. Together, let us continue running the race set before us, always keeping our eyes on Him.
