The Light Among Us
Over the past two years, I’ve discovered just how wonderful the Ansley Christmas Tree Festival is. Each time I walk through the church and see the creativity of those who take part, I’m reminded of the incredible creativity of God Himself. Every tree is unique — some simple, some elaborate, all made with love and imagination. Together, they form a beautiful reflection of the God who first created all things and who delights in the variety of His creation.
The atmosphere in Ansley Church during the festival — the laughter, the music, the diversity of styles and ideas — speaks to me of the richness of God’s world. It’s a glimpse of community at its best: people coming together, each offering something different, yet all contributing to a shared joy.
And then, of course, there are the lights. However many times I see them twinkling in the branches, they never lose their wonder. They remind me of the One who is the Light of the World — Jesus — who stepped into the world He made to re-create and restore our relationship with God.
This Christmas, as we gather again amid the sparkle and scent of evergreens in Ansley, may we celebrate not only our own creativity, but the greatest gift of all — the light of Christ shining in the darkness, bringing hope, peace, and new life to all who receive Him.
