The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

To Celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our Queen Ansley Church will be displaying the Ansley 2000 history display around the church. The church will be open form 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th June. There will be light refreshments available in the annexe.

The display which was put together for the Millennium celebrations was 4ft High and 60ft long. It has snippets of history from the Norman Conquest to the end of the 20th century. It incorporates articles, from newspapers and magazines, photographs, documents regarding ownership and disputes and maps that show the development of the parish. The whole thing has now been mounted and laminated for posterity. Additionally there are a full copies of the 18512 and 1881 census returns.

The church will also have a presence at the Big Lunch to be held in the Rec. in Ansley Village on Sunday 5th June.
